Ai Robo-Man

Original art work. Silk Screen from the collection of Robert Bertone. Limited Edition Silkscreen printed in 1995 with METALLIC INKS. (25 years ago!)

These were HAND printed by Bertone at Parsons School of Design in New York in the 1990’s. These prints are  hand pulled and made by exposing multiple screens to light. each layer was hand cut by Bertone and took weeks to make. Very few of these so there’s not many to sell. Image varies slightly from print to print.

Bertone art

From simple geometric forms to more involved imagery…My contrasts in colors create an effect of soothing vibrancy, at once both calming and exciting!  I love color and experimenting with color, line and composition. My idea’s come from within me; expressing what’s in my imagination, and what I feel at the time. My feelings can be whimsical, other times more serious or even surreal like… they also come from my dreams.

From a recent collection of bertone art.

Screen printing Process: is a printing technique whereby a fine mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto paper, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking it with a stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the substrate (paper) and be pulled out of the mesh screen apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicoloured image or design.
